The Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats course is designed to enhance your competence and knowledge of safety procedures for controlling and coordinating the launch of lifeboats and rescue boats.

You will learn how to safely evacuate or recover personnel from offshore vessels in the event of an incident at sea. This course is suitable for all seafarers operating in both Australian and international waters.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the operations and risks associated with Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats, and will be able to:

  • Prepare survival craft for launch
  • Perform pre-start and start procedures for survival craft and rescue boats
  • Locate and use lifesaving and survival equipment as part of vessel operations
  • Direct passengers to safely disembark
  • Inspect survival craft and equipment for damage and faults

You will be enrolled into the following course:

  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (STCW Reg Vl/ 2 & Code Section A-V1/2, Table A-Vl/2-1)

  1. Must be 18 years old and above
  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival
