This Aerial Culling Course, also known as AHCPMG311 Use Firearms for Aircraft Pest Control is a nationally recognised course that provides the skills and knowledge required to carry out aerial culling operations for vermin eradication in a safe, effective, and humane manner. Participants will learn to operate firearms from an aircraft in compliance with legal, ethical, and safety standards.
The course is available nationally across Australia (subject to applicable state firearms laws) and delivered by instructors who are subject matter experts, including veterans, SASR-trained personnel, and small arms aviation specialists.

Recording and reporting pest control outcomes accurately

Agricultural zones across Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, and other parts of Australia
Contractor bases or operational hubs for biosecurity programs
Salaries can vary based on experience, contract type, and region, but typical ranges include:
Entry-Level Aerial Shooter: $70,000 – $90,000 AUD per year (contract-based)
Experienced Land or Pest Management Officers: $90,000 – $120,000+ AUD per year
Government or Defence Contractors: May exceed $130,000 AUD annually with allowances
Casual or seasonal contract rates can range between $35–$60 per hour, particularly during peak pest control seasons.

Upon successful completion of the Use Firearms for Aircraft Pest Control course, participants will receive a:
The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
4 Days
All participants are expected to demonstrate a high level of firearm handling proficiency and marksmanship. A formal assessment will be conducted by the end of Day 3 to determine readiness for aerial shooting operations.
Participants who do not meet the required competency standards for helicopter-based shooting will not be permitted to continue with the course.
Training is available at our facility or can be conducted at your site. We offer face-to-face, workplace-assisted, and remote delivery support options. For onsite training, your premises must include a suitable firearm training area as well as designated take-off and landing zones for helicopter operations.

All courses run at Saferight are Nationally Accredited in Australia, except for permit issuers, Height Safety Supervisor, and courses under the VOC category.

Individuals holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend any of our courses, whether face-to-face or online. Because Saferight is not registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). Student visa holders are encouraged to seek training with a CRICOS-registered institution to meet their requirements.
