Undertake First Response to Fire Incidents overview
This Undertake First Response to Fire Incidents unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to undertake an appropriate first response to fire incidents in onshore and offshore situations/emergencies.
People working, operating or who regularly travel to an onshore or offshore hydrocarbon/petrochemical installation or facility or major hazard facility may require this competency.
This unit could be applied to any of the following installations or facilities:
- factories and production plants
- onshore/offshore rig/installation
- island based facility
- floating production vessel or platform
- onshore production, processing pipeline systems and/or storage facilities
- pipeline easements
- maintenance bases.
Accredited Units
You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:
Entry Requirements
- Present photo I.D. on arrival
- Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training location. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
- Bring along your own PPE: Gloves, high vis vests, you must wear enclosed shoes and remove all jewellery prior to course commencement.

Certification
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a:
- Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for MSMWHS212 Undertake First Response to Fire Incidents
Your certificate does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards recommend retraining every two years.
The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
