Rigid Haul Truck Training overview
This Conduct Rigid Haul Truck Operations training course in Perth is aimed at those currently working or seeking work in operational roles in the mining and construction industries and will be required to operate a rigid haul truck.
Students will attain the theoretical knowledge and the practical application to operate articulated haul truck properly and will be able to:
- Plan for Rigid Haul Truck Operations: Prepare by accessing documentation, assessing risks, selecting protective gear, using geological data, and coordinating with site personnel.
- Operate Rigid Haul Truck: Conduct pre-start checks, address faults, drive effectively according to conditions, and monitor performance and safety.
- Load, Haul, and Dump Materials: Position truck, perform loading and hauling as per procedures, execute dumping operations, and secure the truck post-operation.
- Conduct Housekeeping Activities: Clear the area, manage hazards, and handle operation-related documentation.
This course consists of two essential components: Theoretical and Practical.

Entry Requirements
- Must be 18 years old and above
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Present photo I.D. on arrival
- Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training facility. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
- Wear steel cap boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
- Bring along a hi-vis vest

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a:
- Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO338E – Conduct rigid haul truck operations
