Our Site Senior Executive WHS Risk Management course in Perth gives aspiring SSEs in WA mining the nationally accredited Units of Competency, regulatory knowledge and practical decision-making skills needed to step into a Statutory Supervisor role.The program covers three Units of Competency, in line with the requirements outlined in Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022, as mandated by WorkSafe.In addition to completing these Units of Competency, successful participants are also required to pass an examination administered by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS). For more information about this examination, please refer to the official DMIRS website.Saferight has been delivering high-risk and WHS training in WA since 1990 (RTO 5722) and our crew is accepted on site by BHP, Rio Tinto, Chevron, Monadelphous and other Tier 1 resources clients.Students will attain the practical application and knowledge required to become a Statutory Supervisor, including:

WHS Communication & Consultation

  • Provide information to the work team about WHS policies and procedures
  • Implement and monitor work team consultative arrangements for managing WHS

WHS Training & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor organisational procedures for providing WHS training to the work team
  • Implement and monitor organisational procedures and legal requirements for identifying hazards, and assessing and controlling risks
  • Implement and monitor organisational procedures for maintaining WHS records

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

  • Access information and data used to identify hazards, and to assess and control risks
  • Facilitate the identification of hazards and potential hazards
  • Contribute to workplace hazard identification
  • Contribute to WHS risk assessment
  • Lead the assessment of associated risks

Risk Management & Control

  • Contribute to identifying risk management requirements and compliance
  • Contribute to developing and implementing risk controls
  • Select and implement suitable risk controls
  • Contribute to evaluating the effectiveness of risk controls

WHS Risk Management Evaluation

  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the organisational WHS risk management process

A Site Senior Executive (SSE) is the appointed person responsible for overseeing operations and safety at a WA mine site under the WHS (Mines) Regulations. The role sits at the intersection of operational leadership and statutory WHS accountability.

  4. Leadership: Provide leadership and support to the site team, fostering a safe and productive work environment.

  • Mining Sites: Primarily in regions such as the Pilbara, Goldfields and other remote WA operations.
  • Construction Projects: Various large-scale construction sites across Perth and regional WA.

To enter the Site Senior Executive WHS Risk Management training in Perth WA, you must meet the following requirements:

On successful completion of the Site Senior Executive WHS Risk Management course, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit below along with a physical copy of the WA WHS Act and mining regulations certificate:

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
