All courses run at Saferight are Nationally Accredited in Australia, except for permit issuers, Height Safety Supervisor, and courses under the VOC category.

Excavator Refresher overview

Feeling rusty on the machine? Refresh your excavator operating skills with Saferight’s practical Excavator Refresher Training.

This course is designed for individuals who already hold the RIIMPO320F – Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations Unit of Competency and need to refresh their practical skills, confidence and familiarity with operating civil construction excavator equipment. This is a non-accredited refresher course suited to workers who require a refresher for workplace requirements, employer requests or personal skills maintenance. Students will only receive a statement of attendance upon completion of the course.

Please Note: To participate in this course, students must already hold and provide a copy of their Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO320F – CONDUCT CIVIL CONSTRUCTION EXCAVATOR OPERATIONS. This is not a Verification of Competency (VOC); the purpose of this course is to provide the practical training component as a refresher only.

Entry Requirements

1. Provide a copy of the Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO320F – CONDUCT CIVIL CONSTRUCTION EXCAVATOR OPERATIONS
2. Applicants are required to hold a valid Class C licence as a minimum. If you’ve just arrived in Australia, you can join the course with your international C-Class licence, as it’s valid for up to three months. After that, you’ll need a WA driver’s licence or an International Driver’s Licence Permit (IDP) to participate.
3. Present a valid photo I.D. on arrival
4. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email. Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.
5. Ability to read, write and understand English. If your LLN skills are assessed as needing improvement to meet the course requirements, we may recommend additional support or training to help you succeed. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.

Disclaimer: Students must complete the post-enrolment learner details form sent via the booking confirmation email prior to attending the course. Failure to fill out the post-enrolment form before training will result in certificates not being issued.

Assessment

Practical training for Civil Construction Excavator only (4 hours time on the machine)

Certification

Upon completion, students will receive a Statement of Attendance for Excavator Refresher course.

This is a non-accredited refresher course. Students will not receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Students must already hold the relevant Unit of Competency to attend this refresher training. This is not considered nationally recognised training.

Obtaining this ticket does not authorise you to operate this machine on public roads unless you hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence. You are only permitted to drive the machine within your worksite. If you need to obtain an HR licence, visit: Department of Transport WA – Heavy Rigid Licence.

Students will be provided with morning tea and refreshments for all courses run at Saferight.
