Confined Space Entry Supervisor overview
This Confined Space Entry Supervisor course is aimed at those who are required to supervise work in confined spaces. The course covers hazard identification and risk assessment and implementation of confined space emergency and rescue systems.
Students will be trained in the following theoretical and practical applications:
- Preparation: Verify requirements, understand safety protocols, and arrange resources for confined space work.
- Information Sharing: Consult with the workforce, ensure training, and communicate safety procedures.
- Safety Assurance: Conduct risk assessments, record hazards, and implement control measures for confined spaces.
- Supervision: Oversee confined space operations, ensure compliance, and maintain communication and safety standards.
- Emergency Readiness: Choose appropriate rescue gear, liaise with emergency services, and enforce emergency protocols.
- Concluding Operations: Confirm task completion, clear permits, and ensure confined space readiness for next use.

Entry Requirements
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Present photo I.D. on arrival
- Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training facility. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
- Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
Assessment
- Theory Component: Approximately 4 hours
- Practical Component: Approximately 4 hours
Certification
On successful completion of this Confined Space Course Supervisor, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the units below along with a wallet sized card:
Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards recommend retraining every two years.
- The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
