Operate Breathing Apparatus & Basic Fire Training overview
The MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Training Perth course is designed to ensure the health and safety of personnel working in irrespirable atmospheres. This Breathing Apparatus Course covers the operation and maintenance of open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), following AS/NZS 1715:2009 and 1716:2012 standards.

- Monitor and control hazards

- Use apparatus as required

- Shut down and remove apparatus
- Clean and maintain it
- Prepare equipment for next use
This Basic Fire Training Perth WA, also know as ‘Demonstrate Fist Attack Fire Fighting Equipment course’ is for those who may be required to use portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets.
Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to operate first attack fire fighting equipment in emergency situations and will be able to:

- Explain various extinguisher types
- Identify fire classifications
- Select the appropriate extinguisher
- Demonstrate the safe and correct use of extinguishers
Use of Fire Hose Reel
- Explain the purpose of fire hose reels
- Unroll and operate the hose reel correctly
- Direct the water stream effectively
- Turn off the hose reel and check for leaks
- Rewind the hose post-use
Use of Fire Blanket
- Explain the purpose of fire blankets
- Demonstrate the safe and effective use of fire blankets

Entry Requirements
To enrol in the Operate Breathing Apparatus & Basic Fire Training Combo Perth course, participants must:
- Participants must be clean shaven in order to attend the course
- Must be 18 years old and above
- Present photo I.D. on arrival
- If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.
- Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.
- Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
- Ability to read, write and understand English

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards recommend retraining every two years.
The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
