EWP Ticket Perth (EWP) overview

This TLILIC0005 – Licence to Operate a Boom Type Elevating Work Platform (Boom Length 11 metres or more) training course is based on the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to operate the elevating work platform – EWP and will be able to:

  1. Plan Work/Task: Identify task requirements, assess EWP suitability and work area, determine paths, apply hazard controls, confirm traffic plan, and establish communication.
  2. Prepare for Work/Task: Maintain consultation, check risk measures, inspect and use safety equipment, safely access EWP, conduct pre-start checks, position and stabilize EWP, and assess environmental conditions.
  3. Perform Work/Task: Implement hazard controls, safely position EWP, secure gear and tools, operate EWP as per procedures, respond to unplanned situations, follow communication signals, and safely access/egress EWP platform.
  4. Pack Up: Conduct post-operation checks, retract and secure EWP, disconnect safety equipment, apply locks/brakes, stow stabilisers, and shut down EWP.

Elevated Work Platform (EWP) operators are responsible for safely operating various types of EWPs, such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and vehicle-mounted lifts. These roles are essential for tasks that require working at heights, such as maintenance, construction, and tree care operations.

  3. Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training facility. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
  4. Wear steel cap shoes/boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

A High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) is a photo ID issued to those trained and assessed as competent for high-risk.

Saferight can assist you with your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) applications to WorkSafe. Please follow the instructions below when enrolling through our website, based on your specific needs:

For New HRWL Applications or Transferring an Existing HRWL

  • Select “High Risk Work Licence (New/Transfer)” and “Photo (6x)” during the enrolment process.
    • Important: You must select the “Photo (6x)” option when applying for a new HRWL or transferring an existing one. If you forget to select the photo option, the charge will be added manually when you attend the training.

For Adding a New Class to an Existing HRWL:

  • Select “High Risk Work Licence (Adding a Class)” during the enrolment process.
    • Note: If you’re adding a class to an existing HRWL, you do not need to select the “Photo (6x)” option.

If You Want to Handle Your HRWL Applications Yourself:

  • Simply proceed with your enrolment without selecting any of the HRWL options. This allows you to manage your HRWL application independently.
  • COFFEE TRUCK available from 9:00am to 9:30am.
  • LUNCH TRUCK available from 12:00pm to 12:10pm.
  • RADIUM LUNCH BAR is less than 1 minute up the road from the Welshpool premise.
