Heights Safety Equipment Inspector overview

The Height Safety Equipment Inspector course, designed according to AS/NZS 1891.4 standards, is tailored for professionals responsible for the inspection and tagging of height safety equipment.

This comprehensive course equips students with the necessary skills and understanding to effectively inspect and tag various height safety equipment, including:

  • Harnesses, lanyards and associated personal equipment
  • Fall arrest devices (external inspection only)
  • Ropes and slings
  • Horizontal and vertical lifelines – Steel rope or rail
  • Horizontal and vertical lifelines – Fibre rope and webbing

This course covers training modules under PUAFIR210 – Prevent Injury, making this course offered by Saferight suitable for those in the fire sector. The fire sector is those sections of government departments, statutory authorities or organisations that have responsibility under jurisdictional arrangements for the delivery of firefighting and fire management services.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

  1. Participants must hold a current Statement of Attainment for Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204E or equivalent issued within the last two (2) years) prior to attending this course
  2. Ability to read, write and understand English
  3. Present photo I.D. on arrival
  4. Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training facility. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
  5. Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
  • Theory Component
  • Practical Component

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a:

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however, some companies may have a set re-certification period.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.

  • Students will be provided with morning tea and refreshments for all courses run at Saferight.
  • Saferight has kitchen facilities for people who wish to bring their own lunch or alternatively, there are cafes and lunch bars within close proximity.
