Operate a Light Vehicle overview
This course is aimed at those working in operational roles that are required to operate light vehicles.
It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.
Students will attain the practical application and understanding of defensive driving techniques and will be able to:
- Prepare for light vehicle operations, including risk assessment and equipment safety.
- Operate light vehicles following manufacturer and workplace procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance and respond to driving emergencies.

Entry Requirements
- Students must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence (Class C). Licences must be presented to the assessor prior to the commencement of the course. Please advise when booking if you hold an extraordinary licence as particular conditions may apply
- Present photo I.D. on arrival
- Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
- Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Saferight is dedicated to supporting all students, including those with Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) needs. If your LLN skills are assessed as needing improvement to meet the course requirements, we may recommend additional support or training to help you succeed. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.

Certification
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the units below and a wallet sized card:

Main eligibility criteria include: Reference and project details of 6 months of construction work in WA out of the past 12 months prior to your course commencement with Saferight.
