Provide CPR overview

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn essential to learn or refresh their CPR skills and may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations.

Participants will attain the practical application and understanding required to provide CPR for both adults and infants. Participants will be able to:

  • Respond to an emergency situation.

Perform CPR procedures in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines including:

  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation mannequin.
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation mannequin.
  • Communicate details of the incident.

 

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

  1. Must be 18 years old and above
  2. Present a valid photo I.D. on arrival
  3. Have a USI (Unique Student Identifier)
  4. Complete the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.
  5. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.
  6. Individuals holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend this course, whether face-to-face or online, as Saferight is not registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). Student visa holders are encouraged to seek training with a CRICOS-registered institution to meet their requirements. For more information please click here.

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit below along with a wallet sized card:

The Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines state CPR skills should be refreshed every 12 months.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.

  • Students will be provided with morning tea and refreshments for all courses run at Saferight.
  • Saferight has kitchen facilities for people who wish to bring their own lunch or alternatively, there are cafes and lunch bars within close proximity.
