Work Safely and Follow WHS Policies and Procedures overview

This course is designed to give participant’s the skills and knowledge required to work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries. This is an appropriate course for those working in operational roles.

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to:

  1. Site Safety Procedures: Understand and apply work requirements, documentation, and procedures, interpret site plans and transport rules, and report any safety breaches.
  2. Personal Safety Measures: Use protective equipment, maintain a safe workspace, obtain necessary permits, practice safe manual handling, and follow site procedures.
  3. Operational Safety Measures: Respond to alarms, isolate and immobilize energy sources, clarify responsibilities in emergencies, apply basic firefighting, and know emergency escape routes.
  4. Maintaining Personal Wellbeing: Identify risks to personal wellbeing, report hazardous situations, and adhere to all health and safety policies.
  5. Incident Reporting: Recognize and report incidents, prepare written records, and contribute to incident investigations.

The accreditation “Work Safely and Follow WHS Policies and Procedures” (RIIWHS201E) is essential for roles that require strict adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards. This qualification is crucial across various industries, including construction, mining, and infrastructure.

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards recommend retraining every two years.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
