Heights Safety Supervisor overview

This HSS-WSAH – Work At Height Supervisor course is designed for those responsible for supervising work at heights. It covers rapid response training and advanced fall arrest techniques.

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to perform harness based work at heights, supervise other operators including those at entry level and to participate in first response rescue.

Height Safety Supervisors are responsible for overseeing safety protocols related to working at heights, ensuring that all equipment and procedures comply with safety standards. These roles are crucial in various industries, including construction, mining, and industrial operations.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

  • HSS-WSAH – Height Safety Supervisor.
  1. Participants must hold a current Statement of Attainment for Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204E or equivalent issued within the last two (2) years) prior to attending this course
  2. Must be 18 years old and above
  3. Present photo I.D. on arrival
  4. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.
    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.
  5. Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
  6. Ability to read, write and understand English

If your LLN skills are assessed as needing improvement to meet the course requirements, we may recommend additional support or training to help you succeed. On successful completion of this course, students will receive a:

  • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for HSS-WSAH – Height Safety Supervisor.
  • Students will also receive a wallet sized card.

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however, some companies may have a set re-certification period. This course is not nationally recognised.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.

  • Students will be provided with morning tea and refreshments for all courses run at Saferight.
  • Saferight has kitchen facilities for people who wish to bring their own lunch or alternatively, there are cafes and lunch bars within close proximity.
