Helideck Operations overview

The Helideck Operations course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively coordinate helideck operations on offshore installations. Designed for personnel who are appointed to the roles of Offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) and Offshore Helideck Assistant (HDA), this course ensures you are fully equipped to manage helideck activities.

Helicopters play a crucial role in the operation of offshore installations, transporting personnel, equipment, and essential supplies. Ensuring the safe landing and take-off of helicopters falls under the responsibility of the HLO.

Upon completing this Helideck Operations course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand offshore helideck industry regulations and best practices
  • Identify and manage helicopter and helideck hazards
  • Execute HLO and HDA responsibilities during helicopter landing and departure
  • Handle cargo and passenger operations efficiently
  • Apply effective communication procedures
  • Operate on normally unattended installations
  1. Must be 18 years old and above
  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival
