Emergency Response and Rescue Training - Module 2 overview

This Emergency Response and Rescue Training – Module 2 course offered by Saferight is an Australian nationally recognised qualification and is the mining and resources industry standard for those employed or seeking employment within the fields.

This qualification reflects the role of emergency response and rescue team members working in the resources and infrastructure industry, especially in performing vertical rescue, emergencies in confined space, and WHS.

The Module 2 ERR training is a part of three short courses for an easier learning experience, which collectively pave the way for a higher qualification, notably the RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue. 

Emergency Response Team (ERT) members play a crucial role in ensuring safety and providing emergency assistance in various settings, particularly in mining, industrial, and remote locations. These positions involve responding to emergencies, conducting safety drills, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Emergency Response: Quickly and effectively responding to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, and hazardous material spills.
  2. Safety Drills: Conducting regular safety drills and training sessions for staff.

  4. Incident Investigation: Leading investigations into incidents to identify causes and implement preventative measures.

  • Mining Sites: Primarily in regions like the Pilbara, Goldfields, and other remote mining areas.
  • Industrial Facilities: Including refineries, chemical plants, and manufacturing units.
  • Remote Locations: Often involving Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) arrangements from major cities like Perth.

    • Prepare for a rescue operation in confined spaces
    • Evaluate and oversee confined space rescue activities
    • Ascertain the position and state of casualties
    • Secure access to the confined area
    • Remove casualties
    • Conclude rescue procedures
  • PUAEQU001 – Prepare, maintain, and test response equipment
    • Locate and identify different types of emergency equipment
    • Examine and set up the required emergency equipment
    • Perform routine maintenance on equipment as per standard procedures
    • Document and communicate the condition of the equipment

  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival
  3. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.
    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.
  4. Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test to determine if the applicant has the required skill level to complete the course.
  5. Ability to read, write and understand English

The Module 2 ERR training is a part of three short courses for an easier learning experience, which collectively pave the way for a higher qualification, notably the RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue. 

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.
