Freefall Lifeboat Survival Craft overview

This Freefall Lifeboat Survival Craft training course focuses on the skills and knowledge required to control and coordinate the use of Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft (TEMPSC) for the safe evacuation and recovery of personnel.

This course is ideal for operators responsible for:

  • Coordinating the evacuation/mustering, boarding, and launch of TEMPSC.
  • Operating, maneuvering, and navigating TEMPSC.
  • Handling communications and navigation systems, as well as other safety/rescue equipment.
  • Monitoring and responding to hazards and other issues.

The competency is applicable to offshore installations and facilities where evacuation procedures involve the use of watercraft and survival at sea. These facilities include:

  • Offshore rigs or platforms
  • Floating facilities such as Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO), Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), and Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG).

Upon completing this Freefall Lifeboat Survival Craft course, participants will be able to:

  • Control muster
  • Organise TEMPSC Deployment
  • Lead TEMPSC Deployment and Ensure Personnel Welfare
  • Control Hazards
  • Respond to Problems
