This Respond to a Helideck Incidents course covers the skills and knowledge required to deliver essential rescue and containment services during a helideck incident.
This unit is intended for individuals supporting helicopter operations at remote locations or specialised helideck landing facilities. In the event of an incident, the operator must identify the appropriate actions to take and play a frontline role in rescue operations and damage control.
Typically, the individual would ensure the safe loading and unloading of personnel and cargo before or after helicopter operations. In the case of an emergency landing or aborted take-off, they would provide crucial rescue and containment services.
