Tradies National Health Month

August is Tradies National Health Month, an initiative by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) aimed at raising awareness about the physical and mental health challenges faced by tradies across the country.

Prioritising Tradie Health

Tradies are the backbone of Australia’s workforce, building our homes, maintaining our infrastructure, and keeping our communities running. However, their demanding work puts them at a higher risk of injuries and health issues. Despite making up less than one-third of the workforce, tradies account for nearly 60% of serious workplace injuries, according to the APA.

Saferight’s Role in Supporting Tradie Safety

At Saferight, we’re committed to providing the necessary training to help tradies stay safe on the job. Our courses, including Confined Space Entry and Work Safely at Heights, equip tradies with the skills needed to minimise risks and work safely in hazardous environments.

Focusing on Mental Health

Beyond physical safety, we understand the importance of mental health for tradies. The pressures of heavy workloads, tight deadlines, long hours, and early mornings can impact mental well-being. We encourage tradies to prioritise their mental health by seeking support, staying connected with loved ones, and ensuring they take time to rest.

Get Involved

This Tradies National Health Month, we encourage everyone to support the health and well-being of tradies. Whether you’re a tradie, work alongside one, or simply appreciate their hard work, take a moment to think about how you can contribute to their safety and health. Encourage a tradie not to ignore minor pains.
