Module 6 - Online Learning & Assessment overview

Want to start a career in training and assessing?

Module 6 is the Sixth stage for anyone looking to step into a training and assessment role or begin their pathway toward the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122).

This module develops the skills required to plan, deliver, and assess training in an online or blended learning environment through TAEDEL405 – Plan, Organise and Facilitate Online Learning and TAEASS404 – Assess Competence in an Online Environment. Participants learn how to facilitate engaging online training sessions while conducting valid, fair, and compliant assessments, including managing assessment conditions, collecting evidence, and maintaining assessment quality and integrity in digital learning environments.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

Core Unit

  • TAEASS404 Assess competence in an online environment
  • TAEDEL405 Plan, organise and facilitate online learning

To enrol in this course, participants must:

  1. Must be 18 years old and above
  2. Present a valid photo I.D. on arrival
  3. Have a USI (Unique Student Identifier)
  4. Complete a short pre-enrolment process, including: Course suitability review & Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.
  5. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Already experienced? You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL recognises skills and knowledge gained through work, previous training, or industry experience and may reduce the time required to complete the course. Credit transfer is also available for equivalent units already completed. Please contact us for more information.

Assessment is competency-based and focused on real outcomes, including:

  • Theory sessions (in class discussions and online assessments)
  • Practical scenario sessions

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the units below:

  1. TAEASS404 Assess competence in an online environment
  2. TAEDEL405 Plan, organise and facilitate online learning

  • FOOD TRUCK available from 9:00am to 9:30am (weekdays only).
  • Students will be provided with morning tea and refreshments for all courses run at Saferight.
  • Saferight has kitchen facilities, fridges and microwaves for people who wish to bring their own lunch.
  • Street-parking is available near the facility with a fee

This course is delivered face-to-face with blended online learning components. Participants are required to attend training at our facility for the duration of the course, with online modules completed alongside in-class sessions.
