Manual Handling Training | Perth overview

Manual Handling Course Overview

Safe manual handling training is essential for preventing workplace injuries and ensuring compliance with Australian Work Health and Safety legislation. In Perth, organisations have a legal duty of care to reduce risks linked to manual handling tasks. Both state and national WHS legislation, along with industry codes of practice, require businesses to provide the right manual handling training for their workers.

Despite the critical importance of workplace manual handling safety, manual handling courses are sometimes overlooked in comparison to other workplace safety priorities. This gap in training creates unnecessary risk for both employers and employees.

Under Australian legislation, a hazardous manual task is any activity that requires a worker to lift, lower, push, pull, carry, move, hold or restrain a person, animal or object, and involves one or more of the following:

  • Repetitive or sustained force
  • High or sudden force
  • Repetitive movements
  • Sustained or awkward postures
  • Exposure to vibration

For workers in Perth, completing accredited face-to-face manual handling training is essential to prevent injury and protect your colleagues on site. This manual handling course provides practical, hands-on skills you can apply immediately in your workplace.

For employers, scheduling manual handling courses in Perth as part of your workplace safety program is a crucial step in minimising risks, reducing workplace injuries, and staying compliant with WHS legislation. Investing in proper manual handling training protects your workforce and your business.
