The IKAR retracting lanyard is available in both single and twin models, each designed with specific safety features for fall arrest protection.
KEY FEATURES OF THE IKAR RETRACTING LANYARD
SINGLE RETRACTING LANYARD:
- In the event of a free fall, the lanyard locks off immediately reducing fall distances.
- Tested & certified to AS/NZS 1891.3:2020 (BMP No. 718260).
- UV Degradation is tested to 12kN.
- Internal energy absorber designed within the housing, ensuring user
protection even when the webbing is fully extended. This also aids in
reducing the overall size of the device and reduces exposure of external
materials to the environment.
TWIN RETRACTING LANYARD:
- Twin IKAR’s on a single Karabiner
- Tested & certified to AS/NZS 1891.3:2020 (BMP No. 718260).

Each IKAR retracting lanyard is engineered with specific load capacities to meet safety regulations.
- Single IKAR Retracting Lanyard: One person including clothing and equipment, with a combined weight of 136kg.
- Twin IKAR Retracting Lanyards: Two people including clothing and equipment, with a combined weight of 272kg.

TRAINING & INSPECTION
- In accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4, all users of height safety equipment must have been trained in its safe use.
- Saferight offers a range of Nationally Recognised Height Safety, Confined Spaces and Rescue Courses.
- Items should always be visually inspected before and after each use as well as undergo inspection by a competent person every 6 months in accordance to AS/NZS 1891.4
- Saferight offers a full inspection service for all Height Safety, Confined Spaces and Rescue equipment.
TESTING & QUALITY CONTROL
- Tested & certified to AS/NZS 1891.3:2020 (BMP No. 718260)
- 6 month servicing requirements in accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4
- 100% inspected
- Saferight is an ISO 9001 Certified Company
- Safety factor of 2: Load bearing web of the fly end of the webbing is UV tested to ensure a guaranteed strength of 12 kN is maintained at the end of the 10 year life of the product ( eg 2 x 6 Kn = 12 kN SWL for a 136kg user)
- Complies with AS/NZs 1891.1:2007 for UV compliance by an independent NATA test laboratory
All lanyards are to be inspected every 6 months (minimum) as required by AS/NZS 1891.4:2009. Saferight offers testing, tagging and inspection services.
