Under the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022, the Site Senior Executive is the most senior officer on a mine site responsible for the operation. The SSE is accountable for ensuring the site complies with WHS legislation, that hazards are identified and risks controlled, and that workers are trained and supervised. To be appointed, candidates must hold the relevant Units of Competency (BSBWHS411, BSBWHS414, BSBWHS513) and pass the DMIRS Statutory Supervisor examination.
