Saferight is proud to offer the RIIMPO320F – Conduct civil construction excavator operations certification. This excavator training course in Perth is aimed at those currently working or seeking work in operational roles in the mining and construction industries who are required to operate an excavator.

Students will attain the theoretical knowledge and the practical application to operate a civil construction excavator properly and will be able to:

  1. Plan Excavator Operations: Interpret documentation, clarify work requirements, assess risks, select PPE, arrange traffic signage, choose equipment, prepare for emergencies, and coordinate on-site.
  2. Operate Excavator: Conduct pre-start checks, identify and rectify faults, drive and operate according to site conditions, monitor hazards and equipment performance.
  3. Handle Materials: Confirm load weight, use lifting gear safely, position machinery effectively, shift load using communication signals, and perform post-operation inspection.
  4. Use Excavator Attachments: Select, fit, test, and use attachments as per procedures, and store them post-use.
  5. Relocate Excavator: Prepare and move excavator safely, assist in loading/unloading as required.
  6. Conduct Housekeeping: Clean the work area, manage hazards, and complete necessary documentation.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

  1. Must be 18 years old and above
  2. Ability to read, write and understand English
  3. Present photo I.D. on arrival
  4. Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form upon arrival at the training facility. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
  5. Wear steel cap boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
  6. Bring along a hi-vis vest
