Operate a Light Vehicle overview

The RII Light Vehicle – Operate a Light Vehicle course (RIIVEH201E) is aimed at those working in operational roles that are required to operate light vehicles.

It applies to individuals working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving established routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

Students will attain the practical application and understanding of defensive driving techniques and will be able to:

Our Operate a Light Vehicle course (RIIVEH201E) offers hands-on training in real-world settings, WITHOUT the use of simulators.

To enter the RII Light Vehicle – Operate a Light Vehicle course (RIIVEH201E), you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Students must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence (Class C). Licences must be presented to the assessor prior to the commencement of the course. Please advise when booking if you hold an extraordinary licence as particular conditions may apply
  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival
  3. Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
  4. Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement
  5. Ability to read, write and understand English

If your LLN skills are assessed as needing improvement to meet the course requirements, we may recommend additional support or training to help you succeed. Students will be evaluated on their ability to perform light vehicle operations and maintain safety equipment effectively, essential for obtaining the RII Light Vehicle (RIIVEH201E) certification.
