Saferight Training Academy is proud to announce a new partnership with RSL WA Workforce Connect, an organisation dedicated to helping Western Australian veterans build meaningful careers after their service.
Leaving the Defence Force for civilian work can be one of the hardest transitions a person can make. Veterans bring real capability, discipline and work ethic, but turning years of service into the tickets and licences that employers recognise isn’t always a clear or simple step. This partnership is built to close that gap.
How the partnership works
Through this partnership, RSL WA Workforce Connect refers eligible veterans to Saferight to gain the nationally recognised tickets and licences that WA’s high-risk industries demand. That includes high-risk work licences, earthmoving, heights safety, fire safety, emergency response & rescue, and more.
Once training is completed, RSL WA Workforce Connect continues to support veterans in pursuing employment opportunities across Western Australia’s mining, construction and civil sectors, the industries where these qualifications are in constant demand.
It’s a practical pathway: from service, to training, to employment opportunities.
Why veterans, and why this matters
Ask many employers what they value in their workforce, and qualities like discipline, focus, reliability and a strong respect for safety consistently stand out. These are qualities many veterans have developed throughout their Defence careers and can bring with them into civilian workplaces.

Mack McCormack, CEO of Saferight Training, served with the Special Air Service Regiment before transitioning into civilian life himself. He has long been a passionate advocate for supporting veterans as they find their footing after service.
